Chakras are an ancient concept originating in India. They are centers of energy located at different points in or around the body. Each one develops in a certain age window, and affects the healthy expression of specific areas of life. 

Of the seven major chakras, the sacral chakra is considered the second, located at the lower abdomen/sacral plexus. It rests above the root chakra, seated at the base of the spine.
